Schools and Colleges in Kashmir to Reopen After Government Review

Srinagar: Educational institutions across the Kashmir Valley will reopen from Monday after the government reviewed the prevailing ground situation, Education Minister Sakina Itoo said.

Speaking to the media, Itoo said the decision was taken after assessing the situation in the region. “All schools, colleges and universities in the Kashmir region will reopen from Monday after reviewing the ground situation,” she said.

The government had ordered the temporary closure of educational institutions last week as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students. The step was taken following protests reported in parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

With the situation now reviewed by the authorities, the administration has decided to allow academic institutions to resume normal functioning. Students and teachers are expected to return to classrooms as schools, colleges and universities reopen across the Valley.
