New Delhi: Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has demanded that the government prepare a concrete and generous relief and rehabilitation package for Poonch and other areas affected by Pakistani shelling.
He has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard.
Gandhi visited Poonch on Saturday (May 25) and met victims of Pakistan shelling in the aftermath of the April 22 Pahalgam attack and India’s retaliatory strikes in PoK and Pakistan.
The LoP described the situation in Poonch as a “huge tragedy”. “A lot of people have died and there has been widespread property damage,” he said.
