New Delhi: In a significant de-escalation of recent hostilities, India and Pakistan have agreed to a full ceasefire across land, air, and sea. According to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, the agreement was reached following a direct conversation between the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMO) of both countries. “The DGMO of Pakistan called the DGMO of India at 15:35 hours this afternoon. It was agreed that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land, air, and sea with effect from 17:00 hours IST,” Misri said.

The development came shortly after former US President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social platform that both nations had reached a “FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE” following a long night of US-mediated talks. “Congratulations to both countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence,” Trump wrote, expressing satisfaction with the outcome of American diplomatic efforts.
While India and Pakistan have not officially acknowledged US mediation in their official statements, the timing of Trump’s post and the DGMO talks suggest coordinated back-channel diplomacy.
