Jammu: In a major provocation, Pakistan launched eight missiles targeting key regions of Jammu and Kashmir, including Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia, late Thursday night. According to defence sources, all incoming threats were successfully intercepted and neutralised by India’s air defence units, preventing any casualties or infrastructural damage.
The attempted strike marks a significant escalation, with military installations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur also coming under threat due to their proximity to the International Border. Indian Armed Forces responded swiftly, deploying both kinetic and non-kinetic countermeasures in line with established protocols.
Senior officials compared the visuals of the attack to the Hamas-style barrages seen in Israel, noting stark similarities. Sources further revealed that Pakistan’s ISI and Hamas operatives reportedly met last month in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), raising serious concerns over increasing strategic coordination between state actors and global terror outfits.
Multiple hostile drones were also detected along the western front, and Indian air defence systems were immediately activated to engage and destroy them. The rapid response averted what could have been a catastrophic situation.
While the situation remains tense, the Indian military continues to monitor the region closely, ensuring robust surveillance and quick deployment of retaliatory measures if needed.
