Covid-19: Delhi Reports 23 New Covid Cases, Hospitals Told to Stay Prepared

Covid-19 News: Delhi reports 23 new Covid cases; govt issues advisory asking hospitals to ensure beds, oxygen, medicines, and vaccines are ready.

New Delhi – The Delhi government on Friday issued a health advisory in light of rising Covid-19 concerns, directing hospitals across the capital to ensure readiness of beds, oxygen supplies, essential medicines, and vaccines.

Health Minister Pankaj Singh confirmed that 23 new Covid cases have been detected in the city. He added that officials are currently verifying whether the patients are Delhi residents or have any recent travel history.

The advisory follows a spike in Covid cases reported in countries like China, Thailand, and Singapore over the past few weeks.

As a precaution, all positive samples are to be sent to Lok Nayak Hospital for genome sequencing. The government has stressed the need for hospitals to be fully equipped, ensuring all critical care infrastructure—such as ventilators, BiPAP machines, oxygen concentrators, and PSA plants—is functional.

Hospitals have also been instructed to update all Covid-related data daily on the Delhi State Health Data Management Portal.
