CM Omar Abdullah inaugurates new Secretariat block in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday inaugurated a newly constructed block at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu to strengthen government office infrastructure.

Jammu, March 6: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday inaugurated a newly constructed block at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu, aimed at strengthening office infrastructure and improving working facilities for government departments.

The Chief Minister formally opened the new block during a brief ceremony held at the Secretariat complex. Senior government officials and public representatives were present on the occasion. The facility is expected to provide additional workspace for various departments functioning from the Civil Secretariat.

Officials said the newly developed block will help ease space constraints and support smoother functioning of administrative offices. The move is also expected to improve coordination among departments and enhance overall efficiency in government operations.

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Rameshwar Singh, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary Estates Shaleen Kabra, Additional Chief Secretary to the CM Dheeraj Gupta, Director Estates Jammu Ashwani Khajuria, along with other senior officers were present during the inauguration.

The Civil Secretariat in Jammu serves as a key administrative hub of the Union Territory during the winter period, housing several important government departments responsible for policy decisions and governance.
