New Delhi, Mar 9: Members of Parliament from the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) on Monday visited the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi to offer condolences on the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Spiritual and Supreme Leader of Iran.
A delegation comprising MPs Chowdry Mohammad Ramzan, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, and Gurwinder Singh Oberoi called on the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India, Dr. Mohammad Fathali. The parliamentarians signed the condolence book kept at the embassy and conveyed their profound sorrow over the tragic assassination of the revered leader.
The delegation extended condolences on behalf of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, JKNC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah to the government and the people of Iran.
The MPs termed the unilateral assault by the United States and Israel on a sovereign nation as a “barbaric” act. They asserted that such actions constitute a clear violation of international law and pose a grave threat to regional peace and stability.
The JKNC leaders prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed hope for lasting peace and stability in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. (Jammu Observer)
