Shimla: Tension prevailed at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, on Sunday after a patient allegedly came under physical assault by a doctor, leading to protests by the patient’s attendants outside the hospital.

According to the attendants, the incident was captured on video, which later surfaced on social media and quickly went viral, drawing public attention.

The patient, a resident of a village in the Kupvi subdivision of Shimla district, said he had visited the hospital due to breathing difficulties. He alleged that the doctor spoke to him in a harsh and disrespectful manner. “When I asked him to speak politely, he became angry and started beating me,” the patient claimed.
