India Strikes Back: Pakistani Air Force Pilot Captured in Jaisalmer as Tensions Escalate

India strikes back: 3 Pak jets downed, pilot captured in Jaisalmer. Missile hits on Lahore, Islamabad; blackout in PoK. AWACS also shot down. Tensions soar as security agencies probe.

Jaisalmer/New Delhi, May 8 – In a dramatic escalation of hostilities, a Pakistani Air Force pilot has reportedly been captured by Indian forces in the Jaisalmer sector of Rajasthan, following a series of retaliatory strikes by India on Pakistani territory late Thursday night.

According to Media Reports, the Indian military launched precision missile strikes on key locations in Pakistan, including Lahore and Islamabad, in response to recent provocations. The situation remains fluid, but initial reports confirm that three Pakistani fighter jets have been shot down, including one near Lathi village in Pokhran, Rajasthan.

One of the most significant developments is the reported downing of a Pakistan Air Force AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) aircraft within Pakistan’s Punjab province—a major blow to the country’s air surveillance capabilities.

Sources also report a complete blackout across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), further indicating the intensity of India’s counteroffensive.

The captured Pakistani pilot, whose identity remains undisclosed, is believed to have ejected from his aircraft before landing in Indian territory. He is currently in Indian custody, and security agencies are conducting a detailed investigation.

While the Indian government has yet to release an official statement on the pilot’s capture.

Defense analysts have described the developments as one of the most significant air engagements between the two nuclear-armed neighbors in recent years. The Indian armed forces remain on high alert along the Line of Control (LoC) and the western front.

This is a developing story. Further details are awaited.
