India’s PE/VC Investments Reach $13.7 Billion in Q1 2025, Technology Sector Leads

According to the EY-IVCA Report, private equity and venture capital (PE/VC) investments in India totaled $13.7 billion across 284 deals in the first quarter of 2025. While this represents a 14% decrease compared to Q1 2024, pure-play PE/VC investments saw a significant increase of 62% year-on-year, amounting to $10.9 billion.

The technology sector emerged as the top recipient, securing $3.1 billion in investments, followed by infrastructure at $2.3 billion. Notable deals included New Mountain Capital’s $1.5 billion acquisition of Access Healthcare Services and Temasek’s $936 million purchase of a 10% stake in Haldiram Snacks Food Private Limited.

“The surge in pure-play investments indicates a strong investor confidence in India’s core sectors, despite a decline in real estate and infrastructure investments,” said Vivek Soni, Partner and National Leader, Private Equity Services at EY.
